quality over quantity

jose takes a certain number of weddings a year in order to give his undivided attention to every couple, quality over quantity.

gear

the photographer makes the photo not the camera. with that being said you focus on enjoying your wedding day while jose focuses on capturing it with a range of full-frame professional cameras to 35mm film cameras in order to get his signature look.

minimal

Unlike other photographers who bring 3–4 flash units on stands and scatter them around you, Jose carries all his gear on him. No bulky rolling suitcases taking up space. His style is documentary. so if you have to wait for someone to move light stands or equipment just to capture a “real” moment… is it really documentary?

90/10

jose’s approach is 90% observation and 10% guidance/direction. this means for most of your wedding (90%) he is anticipating and preserving the magic of the day in its most natural form.

the 10% is the direction needed for the best lighting, first look, portraits, family portraits, etc. if your only memory of Jose is through the photos you look back on, then he did exactly what he was meant to do.

personal touch

every photo is personally edited and reviewed by jose. yes that includes the 35mm film photos as well.

no stranger or a.i reviews your photos.

more and more technology is advancing which is great but when it comes to something special and private like your wedding it requires jose’s undivided attention and for your privacy to remain private.

insurance/info

jose is fully insured and can provide your wedding venue with copy. if you haven’t looked into wedding insurance for yourself jose highly recommends it.

rights- once your gallery is delivered you immediately have printing rights, as well as your own printing shop to print your own photos and albums.

 FAQ’s

  • Documentary Wedding Photography tells the story of the day through candid, unposed images, allowing you to enjoy every moment with friends and family without the need for awkward poses or lengthy formal shots.

This style of photography focuses on documenting the wedding day naturally, in a photo-journalistic manner. Rather than staging or manipulating moments, it highlights the emotions, interactions, and special details as they happen.

  • No, not at all. While black and white photography beautifully highlights emotion, color plays a significant role in documenting the full story. Color is a vital element in capturing the essence of any wedding. I give you a mix of both b&w and color.

  • This is completely up to you. As a documentary wedding photographer i am 100% ok with just communicating up to the wedding and shooting your wedding only. You will see that i am very easy going and you are free to be yourself around me with no judgement. On the other hand i like engagement sessions because it allows us to create a deeper relationship and for some couples it helps them put their guard down having met me before the big day. As well as having beautiful photos for yourself’s and/or for invitations.

  • yes. I take the time to communicate beforehand to ensure I capture what matters the most to you. The details, the bride's dress, the tables—each element contributes to the story of your wedding day. This includes moments like the final touches of makeup and hair, as well as the pre-wedding nerves and excitement. Since every wedding, like every bride, is unique, not all couples want the same details or prep shots. That’s why I places such a strong emphasis on communication leading up to your big day.

  • Yes, in most cases, time will be set aside for family and group photos. Most of the weddings i get to capture are 90% documentary and 10% guided. The 10% involves making time for couple portraits, family photos, and group shots—this is a small but important part of nearly every wedding.
